Frank and Don started the band in the early 90s after the first No Shame Talent Show at the Unitarian Church in Des Moines. Frank is the leader of the band because he is responsible for keeping a list of the tunes the band is supposed to know. The others always ignore the list. So, to keep things from getting completely out of hand, Don secretly serves as benevolent dictator.

Frank was kicked out of a rock and roll band called The Church Keys in 1963. Shortly after this photo was taken, a fourth guitar player was added and that was one too many. Go figure...

So he became a folksinger...

 

Frank had a full head of hair before helping form the band.

Frank is playing the guitar Don made for him.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Here he is playing a 12-string guitar that members of the band sell to each other while waiting for Don to build his next work of art.
